Your IMMEDIATE attention/Communications Required! This bill, due to the positive efforts of Rep. Craig Minor, incorporates the increased license fee proposal at approximately 25% with some variations. Due to the apparent inaction of the Environment Committee to address and establish a position on the Gov’s proposal of doubled fees, Rep. Minor put this amendment on the bill to establish the Sportsmen’s position. The bill was JF’d to Judiciary Committee due to the penalty provisions in the underlying bill. Judiciary Committee Deadline is this Friday April 3. Your communications to get the bill on the Committee Agenda before or on that date is essential, otherwise Finance Committee will set the fees. Clearly it is better to have our position written than to have a Committee write their version. Some of the fees will have to be tweaked but that comes later. Communicate with Judiciary Committee members, particularly the chairmen and Ranking Members, and ask them to place the bill on the Agenda. We expect little or no debate in Judiciary Committee if that is done.
